Jay Turner

AI Engineer & Full-Stack Developer

I taught myself to code and now I build software that actually ships: AI tools, SaaS, client sites. Most of it I take from the first line of code to the live site myself.

Jay Turner
The short version

I don't have a CS degree. What I've got instead is a handful of products that are live right now, with real people using them.

Frontend
React and Next.js, with design systems I build from scratch. Responsive, accessible, and running on Vercel.
Backend
Node and Firebase. Auth, databases, and Stripe billing with live webhooks handling actual payments.
AI
Wiring LLMs into real apps: natural-language search, prompt design, and the API plumbing behind it.
End to end
I take things from idea to live site myself. Domains, hosting, payments, the lot. Not just a demo in a repo.
In my own words

How I got here

Hey, I'm Jay.

In early 2025 I spent about half a year at university in Alberta. Two classes gave me the basics of code, and honestly that was all it took, and I was hooked. I went straight to The Odin Project to keep learning on my own. This was back when AI still wasn't much good at writing code, so I learned the hard way: reading, trial, and a whole lot of error. I went from basic exercises to actually shipping live things: small web apps, Chrome extensions, anything I could build.

I took a swing at mobile apps and, real talk, I caved. It was a whole different world and the pressure of it got to me. But web development just clicked. That's my lane. I also fell down the CLI rabbit hole, and you can get seriously caught up in a terminal, trial-and-erroring your way through something until it finally works.

This year, code took over my life completely. I shipped JAYISAAC AI from the ground up. My first real product, start to finish. It was hours of frustration just getting the thing to function. I ship on Vercel, and those deploy logs can be brutal, but they're honest; they tell you exactly what you broke. Stripe's console was its own beast; I fought through test mode and finally flipped it live and watched a real payment land. Building AI features on the Claude API was tough too. None of it came easy, but I figured it out piece by piece, and it's live.

JAYISAAC AI

JAYISAAC AI is a contact-search tool for small B2B teams. Think Apollo, but built for the solo operators and small shops the big platforms don't bother with.

You type what you're after in plain English and it finds the contacts. There's a writer built in that drafts the outreach email too. I built and run all of it myself: the app, the payments, the servers.

Tree6z

A site for a local property maintenance business. Quick to load, easy to read, and built to turn visitors into calls. I did the design and the build start to finish, and it's live.
